The Worst ever Finance Minister Basil
Rajapaksa has stepped down as a member of Parliament. He entered the parliament
by the 20th constitution amendment conspiracy. Now the
public cursing the Basil Rajapaksa for his careless and shortsighted action on Sri
Lanka’s economy.
Nepotism is a widespread disgusting disease in
Sri Lankan politics. Whenever nepotism king Mahinda Rajapaksa comes to power,
he surrounds his cronies and commits corruption and fraud. Basil Rajapaksa
always played the role of a political hitman by arranging deals and power
conspiracy.
Basil today cracked a joke on the famous chant used for him by Anti-government
protesters at the Galle Face Green calling for a system change have since
formed a chant incorporating the Sinhala term and the name of Basil Rajapaksa. So,
he jokes with the media “It’s my ringing tone now as it says Basil Basil Basil,
which is my name”.
In this corrupted system, good governance is a topic that all
politicians laugh at and make fun of in public. In developed countries, humble
ministers apologize and resign for tiny little faults. instead of cracking jokes,
Basil must apologize for his failure and power play.
Again Addressing the media, he expressed his objection
to the 21st constitution amendment. Mainly against Transferring the
power of a President who secured 6.9 million votes to a Prime Minister who
obtained less than 253,000 votes is not right.
He also talked about how he did and how to handle the
international monetary fund (IMF) negotiations to get assistance to rejuvenate our
economy. Also, the dual citizen entry to parliament.
He said, however, he will remain in politics
and get further involved with the government only if there is a necessity in
the future. It means the economic hitman is still alive and more conspiracy
is to be expected.
The bottom line is this press conference was just a waste of time.
From start to end different types of jokes about good governance and reviving the
Sri Lankan economy. We should establish proper law and order. That’s how Sri Lanka
can get rid of this crisis.
