Everybody
knows the current devastating economic situation. It is one of the outcomes of
printing money by the current government with former finance minister Basil
Rajapaksa.
(SLPP) Minister Ranjith Siyambalapitiya spoke
to parliament yesterday (4th May 2022) about the money printing and the after-effects, which
can be understood even by an Ordinary Level student. He pointed out that the economic
inflation at the black market is not entered in the statistics and that today
the price of a cylinder of gas has surged up to Rs. 30,000.
Accordingly, the country is driving itself into hyperinflation
risking the emergence of complicated problems and the situation could be
irreversible should it continue, the SLFP MP warned.
